Spouses and Dependent Children
You may be eligible to sponsor your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, or dependent children toIMMIGRATE TO CANADA as permanent residents.
An application for Family Class sponsorship can be made if your spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, or dependent children live inside or outside Canada.
To be a sponsor, you must be 18 years of age or older and a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
Both you, as the sponsor, and your relative must meet certain requirements. When you sponsor a spouse, common-law or conjugal partner, or dependent children to become permanent residents of Canada, you must promise to support them financially. However, you are not required to meet income requirements.
Other Relatives
Parents, grandparents, and any of the following who are orphaned, under 18 years of age and not married or in a common-law relationship: brothers or sisters, nephews or nieces, grandsons or granddaughters.
You may be eligible to sponsor certain other relatives residing outside of Canada toIMMIGRATE TO CANADA as permanent residents.
Both the person sponsoring a relative and the person wishing to Immigrate to Canada must meet certain requirements.
You can sponsor certain relatives if you are a citizen or permanent resident of Canada and if you are 18 years of age or older.
When you sponsor other relatives to become permanent residents of Canada, you must promise to support them financially, and you are required to meet certain income requirements.
All applicants for permanent residence including sponsored individuals must undergo criminal and background screening.
